Conneaut Creek AVA
In the process of becoming
a new American Viticultrual Area, the Conneaut Creek is the dominant river
between Ashtabula, Ohio and Erie, PA. This region has a long history of growing
grapes. In the 60's Arnie Esterer of Markko Vineyard brought a special grape
growing technique to the area and began growing the worlds best grapes. Today
the Conneaut Creek has become a scenic river, host many covered bridges, a
world class fly fishing river, and of couse is home to four wineries. Biscotti's,
Buccia, Markko and Tarsitano.
